Corten steel garden pond 13102

A versatile intermediate size—a rectangular pond measuring 250 x 125 cm, 50 cm deep, and with a capacity of up to 1560 liters. A steel garden pond of this size creates a striking surface and is easier to integrate into an average garden or larger patio than the largest model.

The welded, waterproof Corten steel tank requires no plastic wrap and develops a warm, brownish-orange patina over time. It can be combined with a waterfall or spout to keep the water moving.

Ponds

Product description

Steel garden pond made of Corten sheet metal 250×125×50 cm

This Corten steel garden pond measures 250 cm long, 125 cm wide, and 50 cm deep, with a capacity of approximately 1,560 liters when fully filled. It's a mid-range size—large enough to impress, yet practical enough to easily fit into a typical garden or larger patio. The pond is welded, waterproof, and ready to use once set up and filled.

Design and form - rectangular tank with waterfall option

It's a clean, rectangular shape made of smooth Corten steel panels with distinct, sharp edges. The artificial, geometric contour of the tank contrasts beautifully with the natural vegetation of the shoreline and the soft surface of the water. The patina develops individually on each piece, giving it a brownish-orange hue that enlivens the garden. The tank looks good as a freestanding element or combined with a Corten steel waterfall or spout.

A pond for the terrace and garden - where it will work best

The 250 cm model works well as a garden focal point, a relaxation area, or as a reservoir on terraces and patios. It can be placed on level, load-bearing ground or partially buried, leaving a decorative edge above ground. On terraces above rooms, it's worth checking the load-bearing capacity beforehand, as the reservoir is heavy when full. The edge can be finished with stone, wood, pebbles, or gravel, tying the pond into the rest of the design.

Coastal plants, fish and water movement

Moisture-loving and coastal species thrive around the pond—sedge, marsh iris, gopher, and ornamental grasses—sized to suit the pond's surface and the garden's character. Once the patina has stabilized, the pond is suitable for fish and aquatic plants, and a 50 cm depth helps maintain a stable temperature. A waterfall or spout with a pump keeps the water circulating, improves its oxygenation, and creates a soothing murmur.

Dimensions, depth and capacity

Measuring 250 cm in length, 125 cm in width, and 50 cm in depth, the tank offers a generous surface area and a capacity of approximately 1560 l when fully filled. This is a balanced compromise between impressive scale and ease of integration into the garden. Once filled, the tank is heavy and stable, so it's best to prepare the site and soil before adding water.

Corten steel, 2 mm sheet, tightness and care

The pond is made of 2 mm Corten sheet metal, tightly welded by hand in Poland; it is waterproof and does not require a foil. Corten steel is considered rust-resistant – after initial oxidation, the process slows down, and the rich patina becomes a protective coating. The pond does not require extensive filtration or specialized maintenance; with a circulating model, pump monitoring and basic plant care are sufficient. During the patina period, protect the light-colored substrate from rust runoff. This model comes with a 5-year warranty against material defects.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a Corten steel pond and a foil or plastic pond?

A steel pond is a rigid, welded basin that doesn't ripple or wrinkle, and doesn't require any plastic foil. Unlike prefabricated plastic ponds, it provides clean, geometric edges and a designer look. Our ponds are made exclusively of Corten steel—we don't offer foil or plastic versions.

Is a 250 cm garden pond suitable for a terrace?

Yes. They can be placed on a load-bearing, even surface on a terrace or near a relaxation area. A full tank is heavy, so on terraces above rooms, it's worth first checking the structure's load-bearing capacity.

Can you keep fish in a Corten pond?

Yes, once the patina has stabilized, the tank is suitable for stocking fish and plants. A depth of 50 cm promotes stable water temperatures. Water circulation (a pump) and oxygenating plants can be beneficial for fish well-being.

Does a pond require filtration and frequent maintenance?

It doesn't require extensive filtration systems or specialized, periodic maintenance. Models with a waterfall or spout circulate the water, which maintains its quality. Basic maintenance is sufficient: checking the pump and caring for aquatic plants.

Do you make water ponds from a different metal or in matte black?

These models are made of Corten steel (aged metal). We do not manufacture ponds made of aluminum, copper, or galvanized sheet metal. A matte black finish is available on select custom projects—Corten remains our specialty.
